SU 6-square Conference-Sustainable Urbanism  April 1-3, 2007

SU CheckersThe International Conference on Sustainable Urbanism at Texas A&M University brings together leaders from many segments of society to debate the future of cities.  The topic of the conference could not be more timely in view of today’s release of the IPCC report on Global Climate Change, and the numerous and growing concerns about the state of the planet’s cities, as evidenced by the recent United Nations report The State of the World’s Cities 2006/2007 and WorldWatch Institute report The State of the World 2007: Our Urban Future.

The conference is organized around the twin themes of Sustainability and Urbanism and their intersection in a rapidly emerging field we call Sustainable Urbanism.

  • Sustainability is the focus on Monday
  • Urbanism is the focus on Tuesday

2 CEUs are awarded for full conference participation.
