About the Building

The Donald L. Houston Building (DLHB) was named for Donald L. Houston, DVM, who served as an Administrator with the Food Safety and Inspection Service, FSIS from 1979-1987. In memory of Dr. Houston, please remove your hats while in the DLHB.


  1. Who may use the Donald L. Houston Building (DHLB)?
    Businesses, organizations, associations, and Texas A&M units hosting programs may use the building. Continuing and Professional Studies Office (CAPSO) manages two classrooms and the Auditorium.

  2. When are the facilities available?
    Monday through Friday, 8:00 am - 5:00pm.
    For other times, call 979-845-6036.

  3. How can you reserve the facilities?
    Use the online Room Reservation form. Return completed form by:

    Call 979-845-6036 and a customer service associate will assist you.

  4. Where do I call to leave a message for a participant?
    Call 979-845-6036.

  5. What is the policy for catering events?
    You may coordinate your own catering or CAPSO staff will be happy to coordinate all your event catering needs.

  7. May I mail program materials directly to the DLHB?
    Yes, you may mail program materials directly to the DLHB at the above address. Contact the CAPSO staff and advise when materials will be mailed.

  8. Where can participants park at the DLH Building?  Is parking free?
    Participants may park in any unmarked space in the parking lot at the facility. Yes, parking is free.
