Description & Objectives
Thirteen intensive practitioner-based lessons and 9 labs provide participants with the biological basis for making decisions related to horse production management. The material presented is introductory to intermediate in nature. Content includes two DVDs: by L&H Branding Irons and Texas A&M and Dr. Evans. Participants should have a general knowledge of horses and experience riding and caring for horses.

Instructor Bio
Dr. J. Warren Evans, author of the book, Horses: A Guide to Selection, Care and Enjoyment, brings to the program his 35 years of experience teaching introductory through advanced graduate level horse production programs. He has conducted many short programs and lectures to horse owners and users giving him a practical understanding of the audience needs. Dr. Evans taught the Horse Production & Management program to horse owners for UC Berkeley Continuing Education in a face-to-face setting for five years. A past president of the Equine and Physiology Society, he is also the author with A. Borton, H. F. Hintz, and L. D. Van Vleck of The Horse.

Cancellation and Payment Policies
Cancellation
Participants are expected to complete their program of study. If for any reason, the participants are unable to fulfill their obligations, written notification must be submitted to the program director within 30 days of a scheduled module and/or class. A non-refundable cancellation fee will be assessed after payment due dates if written notification is not on file in the Continuing and Professional Studies Office, Division of Research and Graduate Studies at Texas A&M University.
If written notice is received thirty days before the scheduled program or event, participants will receive their fees minus a cancellation fee of 6% of the original fee. If notice is received less than thirty days prior to scheduled program or event, participants will receive their fees minus a cancellation fee of 15% of the original fee. Once a program or event has commenced, no refunds will be issued.
The University reserves the right to cancel or postpone its programs in the event of insufficient registrations, instructor illness, severe weather, or natural disaster. In the event of program cancellation, registrants will be notified immediately and all fees will be returned in full.
Payment
If a module/class payment is not received on scheduled due date, your registration will be subject to cancellation. In addition, a late fee will be assessed for all registrations past the scheduled due date for payment.
