Jan Richards is a Franklin Covey Certified Facilitator in select programs including: Stephen Covey’s The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People, FOCUS, First Things First, and The 7 Habits of Highly Effective College Students, and The 7 Habits for Managers. Richards has 20 years of teaching experience, which includes being certified in vocational education by the Texas Education Agency and she holds a certification as a United States Parachute Association skydiving instructor and jumpmaster. She received a business administration degree from Corpus Christi State University and a master in education from Texas A&M University. She has worked in higher education for over 20 years.
Currently, she is the assistant director of the Office of Distance Education at Texas A&M. She lives with her husband, Jimmy on the outskirts of College Station with four cats and a big dog named Tiki. The Richards enjoy going for long drives in their 1974 Triumph TR6s - one red and the other purple - which Jimmy restored himself. They both belong to the Brazos Brits Car Club. Jan also is an avid bird watcher, book club member, Bunco player and scrapbooker. She traded-in her clock for a compass over ten years ago.
Cancellation and Payment Policies
Cancellation
Participants are expected to complete their program of study. If for any reason, the participants are unable to fulfill their obligations, written notification must be submitted to the program director within 30 days of a scheduled module and/or class. A non-refundable cancellation fee will be assessed after payment due dates if written notification is not on file in the Continuing and Professional Studies Office, Texas A&M University. If notice is received thirty days before the scheduled class, participants will receive their fees minus a cancellation fee of 3% of the original fee. If notice is received less than thirty days prior to scheduled module, the students will receive their fees minus a cancellation fee of 10% of the original fee. Once a class has commenced, there are no refunds.
The University reserves the right to cancel or postpone its programs in the event of insufficient registrations, instructor illness, severe weather, or natural disaster. In the event of program cancellation, registrants will be notified immediately and all fees will be returned in full.
Payment
If a module/class payment is not received on scheduled due date, your registration will be subject to cancellation. In addition, a late fee will be assessed for all registrations past the scheduled due date for payment.
