The mission of the Continuing and Professional Studies Office (CAPSO) is to provide convenient and affordable lifelong learning opportunities for adult learners through high-quality, innovative continuing education programs (online and face-to-face) that enhance their professional development and career opportunities.

Goals

- To assist with the conversion of graduate level programs and their conversion to credential-based workshops, institutes, seminars and short courses for internal and external constituents, including professionals, alumni, TAMUS faculty, multinational community leaders, and citizens.
- To assist TAMUS faculty and interdisciplinary teams in developing and marketing new and on-going continuing education ventures through emerging technology.
- To create value-added relationships with continuing education efforts represented by various community colleges, universities, centers, extension services, and independent consultants.

What We Do
CAPSO provides clients with guidance in planning and executing continuing education (including workshops, conferences, seminars, or short courses). We help you:
- Consult with you to identify viable programs
- Develop relationships and broker connections for potential partners
- Convert academic courses to continuing education credential programs (technology-mediated or face-to-face)
- Assess market with and for you
- Market to identified target audiences
- Implement programs with you (from registration to completion)
- Assess program outcomes

Fees
Development Fees
CAPSO has no fixed fee for participating in upfront development discussions for workshops, courses and seminars. Reimbursement is determined by a request for services and is outlined in a Memo of Agreement, signed by participating parties and approved by the management of the contracting unit.
Delivery Fees
CAPSO currently maintains fixed coordination and delivery fees based on anticipated revenue and registration targets. Services rendered may include but are not limited to consulting, analysis of program costs, marketing assessment and routing/managing appropriate paperwork/certifications. Reimbursement details are outlined in a Memo of Agreement, signed by participating parties and approved by the management of the contracting unit.
(Note: The University has stipulated an additional fee of $5.00 per certificate issued for administration which is not covered under our services).
